Control: somethings just get out of hand
GORSE MULCHING AND SLASHING
This was an infestation of Gorse on top of an old mining mulloch heap and tailings area. Some of the gorse was so high it dwarfed our equipment.
The small pile of dead gorse at the front of this photo took the landholder 6 hours with a brush cutter.
This is the site as work progresses. The mullock heap (seen as a small hill) - was reduced in height to assist with future control. The tailings area was flattened out.
It was recommended to follow up with chemical spraying and to revegetate the area.
Always remember to read the label and follow the instructions carefully before using any chemical.

Blackberry Mulching and Slashing
Blackberries have a lot of growth underground so follow up spraying as soon as the plant starts to leaf again is required to eradicate this weed.
The mulching process makes spraying easier to carry out, but will not eradicate the infestation.
Always remember to read the label and follow the instructions carefully before using any chemical.

When garden plants go BAD
This garden plant is known as the Giant Honeybush (Malianthus Major). Some of these were 4 to 5 metres high. This is a plant that grows from suckers so will need chemical control when it reshoots. The landholder will now be able to get to the regrowth and will not require excessive amounts of chemicals as the plants foliage will be more compact.
Fencing
The clients wanted an unobtrusive front boundary fence.
They wanted the gate to stay open with the option to close it.
We installed a support for the gate to rest on while it sits flush with the fence and out of the way.

The fence crosses a creek - clearance was left and the wires were tied to release easily should a flood event occur.
